LRSC Autotest 2023 Round-up
First Round of the Partsworld Munster Autotest Championship was held in Hyland Transport Yard in Rosenallis, Co Laois on Sunday March 12th.
The overall win was taken by the 2022 Partsworld Munster Autotest Champion, Don Giles in his Westfield. The Cork man was brilliant to watch all day.
In Class B1, Martin Walsh in his Toyota Starlet special took the win and kept Giles honest all day to take second overall. Eoin Noonan was 2nd in the class with Mike Crean finishing up in 3rd, both in Starlet Specials.
Anthony Freeney won class C in his very well driven Toyota MR2.
In Class D it was John Fenlon who topped the times in his Toyota Starlet. Kieran Garahy was 2nd and Kevin Dempsey was 3rd in the class, both in Starlets.
Class E was all about the Cashmans. Liam and Michael took 3rd & 4th overall and 1st and 2nd in the class. Liam was driving a ‘new’ Nova while Michael stuck with his well-developed Corsa.
In the club class, there were two new comers to the sport. Oisin Gorman in his 1L Micra Hotrod took the win by just 12 seconds from Sebastian Szopa in his Suzuki Swift. Both drivers loved the day and never stopped smiling. Well done to both and we hope to see more of them.
